Think global eat local

Inspire globally, act locally. From the roots of Transition Towns this site had the slogan ‘think global, act local’ as slogan. From other grassroots movements, this site is affiliated with those, the term ‘act local, inspire global’ is a more appropriate slogan because these grassroots initiatives inspire by their local actions other people. This site however, although named a think tank,  likes to have inspiration as a starting point. Think global might suggest that others should adopt a certain way of thinking. Or that there is thought for others. Or that there is just one body of thought. It is precisely the intention that different bodies of thought are integrated. Inspire global  is therefore a more flexible phrase. Act locally is as result a logical consequence.

For these reasons, the slogan ‘inspire global, act local‘ is used as new inspire phrase for the site intransitie.eu.

Holism. There is not one just slogan. Since there is only one world sometimes there must be thought or acted globally. And often there should be thought and acted locally. Only because of the global scale acting locally has been neglected over the last decades. The new grassroots emphasize this therefore correctly. Also at the individual level the emphasis may be there where is the energy or action level of that person. One person can mean a lot at the local level, the other on a global one. Balance is here the magic word.
